Por qué su negocio de fabricación necesita un bender de tubos confiable

Why your manufacturing business needs a reliable tubing bender

Pipes and tubes aren’t just the (literal) foundations of our homes, businesses and infrastructure — they’re the material from which lots of fun things, like gym equipment, soccer goals, picnic tables and greenhouses, are formed, too. Manufacturers across the country make a wide variety of products from tubes and pipes.

While there are nearly countless applications for tubes and pipes, to get to the final product, you need to find a way to bend or end form the material of your choice.

Fortunately, we know just how to help with that.

Tube bender applications: The difference between a pipe and a tube

Did you know much of what we think of as pipes are actually tubes? Both can be identified by their wall thickness or gauge (the material’s thickness); and both are identified by their diameter. But the key thing is that, what that diameter is actually in reference to is not the same in pipes versus tubes.

Tubing is measured by its outside diameter; a pipe is usually designated in North America by NPS, or nominal pipe size (NPS dimensions are defined standards and don’t necessarily measure to the named number exactly… sort of like 2 by 4’s in lumber) What that means is if you have a 2-inch tube, and a 2-inch standard (SCH40) pipe, the tube can actually slide into the pipe.

The other difference is that tubes and pipes are usually used for very different things. Pipe is usually designed for stuff to go be pressurized inside, as well as stuff that is usually flowing, like water, gas/steam and sewage. Tube is often designed to deal with the world outside, so its value is durability; it functions as a construction element. Bridges, tables, shelves, podiums, bleachers, bikes, tents, sporting goods … the more you look around you the more you will realize exactly how common tubing is!

Another difference is that tubing can be square, rectangular or oval.

Huth tube benders can handle both tubes and pipes. That means in addition to its longevity, it offers the most versatility for your business. A Huth tube bender is able to handle a wide variety of materials, including tool, stainless and galvanized steel and even some grades of copper and aluminum.
